DJ / Producer Matt Gillespie has been actively releasing music since 2007 under different guises.

Influenced by the sounds of 90s US house and garage, and by legends like Kerri Chandler, MAW & Mood II Swing.

Production highlights include releases on labels like Jovonn’s BodyNDeep NYC, Saison’s No Fuss, Micky Moore and Andy Tee’s Groove Culture plus many more in the pipeline for the rest of this year.

His sound references the classic elements of house, deep, us garage and soulful.

What Yooks brings is an immeasurable sound of the Afro, Soul and House sound and has several productions that enhance this further.

My musical preference is mainly Afro, Disco, Soulful and Deep along with Latin based house music... lots of percussion with spine tingling vocals!

Matt’s passion for house and garage music started in his teens, growing up listening to Kiss FM and other pirate radio stations in London. After purchasing some Technics 1210s Matt became an instant vinyl junkie!

I would say I love the deeper soulful side of House music M.A.W and Frankie Knuckles have been a big influence on me and more recently producers like Mark Francis & Jihad Muhammed and not forgetting the UK Rhemi and Sean McCabe are smashing it at the moment.
