Bobby Dee: A Musical Journey
Bobby Dee’s passion for music ignited in 1986, launching a decades-long career. Initially known as Bobby Boom, he honed his skills with Oxford-based sound systems Sir Notch and Street Level.
In the early 90s, he collaborated with the funk soul band Tones Of Life, co-writing and co-producing their album released by JETSTAR. His musical exploration continued with the improvisational band PPPHUNK Psychedelic Punjab Phunk, whose album was hailed as “Album of the Month” in Sound on Sound Magazine.
Since then, Bobby Dee has graced stages as a DJ, opening for renowned artists such as Omar, Shalamar, Martin Kemp, Del A Soul, Redman Method Man, and Kenny Thomas. He’s also a seasoned radio host, currently presenting shows “Get on Up” and “The Soul Train Club” on Solar Radio and “Soul Groove Sunday” on House FM.
His performances have captivated audiences at prestigious events like Groove Odyssey Ibiza, Summer Breeze Soul Week in Corfu, Cowley Road Carnival, Common People Festival, Summer Soulstice Festival, and the Solar Records launch party in London. He’s also a core member of the Soulfunkalicious club and the Oxford Soul Funk Club.
