First of all thank you for checking out The Soul Sanctuary here on House FM!
I have always been into underground dance music from my early teenage years, having been heavily influenced by my older brother Rob Foster who is also a DJ.
At the time he was buying and playing Soul, Funk, Rare Grooves, Hip Hop and early House music, so I naturally got to hear a lot of these tunes regularly.
It got to a stage where I felt I needed to go from just knowing the names of these tunes to buying them for myself, and before long I had bought myself a pair of Technics 1210’s and was going up into London every weekend to the record shops to see what was released that week.
This is where I started to make connections with people within the music scene through regularly seeing people who worked in the record shops as well as like-minded people who you would bump into on a weekly basis.
Eventually I started to get DJ bookings to play at parties, bars and clubs, with my first DJ booking being at The Fridge in Brixton.
Some of my personal highlights include playing at places and promotions like Astoria, Busby’s, Egg, Herbal, The Glasshouse, Kinky Malinki and a warm up set at Garage City at Bar Rumba.
I have also been on a few radio stations over the years including House FM (a very long time ago), Upfront FM, Ambition Radio and Unknown FM. I am now very excited to finally be back on House FM and playing my musical selection to everyone.
On my weekly radio show you will find a selection of mainly soulful house, but also vocal, melodic, afro, deep & bumpy house music which will generally show my early musical influences from genres like 80’s Soul, Boogie, Funk, Rare Grooves etc…the music has got to have soul.
I have recently got into music production and have had a couple of releases to date which you can find on the usual digital platforms.
I am now looking to produce and release music more regularly, so keep an eye out for future music releases…
Once again, thank you for checking out The Soul Sanctuary here on House FM.
I hope you enjoy my musical selection!
