When did you begin DJ'ing and what made you start?
Began DJ'ing in 1995 around Christmas time i started to learn on a pair of old Soundlabs, remember waking up Christmas day n having a go n found that i could mix Bucketheads 'The Bomb with Nightcrawlers ' Push The Feeling On' and that was that, away we go!
What would you say influenced you towards House music?
I had a few pals who were into the scene and knew a few names so i wanted to get involved, so i did! I would say that the club scene in 1994 was my main influence toward House music, things were very much experimental at that time but there was some blinding nights happening my fave being any house night at The Leisure Lounge down Chancery Lane.
Of the many genres of House, which are your favourite?
I would say i prefer the deeper side of House but love my vocal tracks so nice deep vocal tracks. But to be fair i love House all shapes n sizes!
Which artists, producers and tracks stand out for you, both now and from the past?
Obviously Masters At Work, MK, Kevin Saunderson, Benji Candelario, Todd Terry, Grant Nelson this list could go on and on and on.....Among my favorite tracks would be MKs remix of 'I Cant Get No Sleep' also Congo 'The Boss' and of course ' Tears' by the man!! Frankie Knuckles. My favorite vocal track is a rare mix of Donnell Rush 'If Only You Knew' E-Smoove on the buttons, pure class.
Name some highlights or a profound moment in your time as a DJ
I've had some great memories especially playing for KinkyMalinky got to play all the major clubs in London n the nights were always packed to the rafters, highlight would be playing the midnight set on New years eve at Ministry absolute dream come true!
Have you done any production? If not, is it something you aim to do?
As for production iv done loads of tracks to get a feel for it, very experimental some of them perhaps might be fit for a play if mastered properly but to be honest id like to learn to play keys or bass before i take any of that side of it too seriously.
Going on from that, what are your musical plans for the future?
The future? Who knows, i want to concentrate mainly on everything going on at Housefm.net, roll Tidy Sundays on, keep the vibe alive and take it from there, who's with me??? X
