Born Dennis C Ramdawah, otherwise know as DJ DCR, comes from Guyana, S.A.
Currently living in New York, New York,USA, DCR has been djing since 1980.
From the early age of seven, DCR was always involved with music. After being given his
First record collection from his father,Dennis Sr.,his love of music grew from there. Upon relocating
To the states, his collection grew considerably with a variety of many styles. Early genres included Reggae, Calypso and the Caribbean's own, Soca music.
While living in Queens, NY and moving to Brooklyn, NY, he became an avid member of the NYC club scene. During the late 80's dance music began taking shape in the streets of NYC and he feverishly absorbed it. An original member of New York City's legendary nightclub, The Sound Factory, he and his wife to be Nancy, would be there every week under the influential musical styles of DJ Frankie Knuckles and Junior Vasquez. His love of House music began. Additional influencers included Louie Vega, David Morales, Eric Morillo, Timmy Regisford and Luciano.
Fast forward to the present where he is the Owner/Operator of DCR Consulting Group LLC, which includes S.A.S Entertainment and LBP Productions. With a B.A. in Communications, he specializes in business management consulting and creative processes for small business startups and entertainment Production. DCR loves an energetic, high impact party and his musical sessions are inclusive of that. With attention to detail, every mix delivers a story with passion and effectual melodies to his listening audience. This is the meaning behind his present production of Vibes “Flava.” The standard is the difference in musical mixing that keeps Vibes Flava fresh and engaging to all across the world.
Present projects include working and developing underground talent for mainstream audiences and creating avenues of communication with recording industry top brass.
DCR continues to push the envelope with his own individual work at House FM and his collaborative efforts with local stations in New York and abroad. Future plans include releasing his first compilation Album which includes mixes of influential artists that shaped and made the brand that is DJ DCR.
