When did you begin DJ'ing and what made you start?

I started Dj'ing around six years ago and in all honesty it’s something I wish I had started sooner.

I have always had a love for music and considered DJ'ing from an early age but wasn’t completely sure how to get started. I held down corporate jobs but in my own time loved going to house parties and events and had a few friends that were DJ’s. I loved the vibe they brought to the party, the way music could get everyone up and dancing & being happy and I thought oh yes, I want to be part of that at some point. A friend of mine mention that they were starting A DJ course one day and I thought, this is my chance to get involved, the rest has been history...

What would you say influenced you towards House music?

I started being really into the garage scene growing up. Garage would always be what was played in the main room and house was what they played in the second room. I started spending more and more time in the second room listening to house and as I listened to it more it became my preference. I realised there was a huge house scene and my interest seemed to coincide with house going more mainstream.

Of the many genres of House, which are your favourite?

I LOVE all house music; for me it’s the vocals on the house that bring a house track to life for me. Whether it’s Soulful, Deep, Afro/Tribal, Funky, Jumping and Garage. The thing about House is you can mix it all, up old and new, it’s so versatile.

Which artists, producers and tracks stand out for you, both now and from the past?

Oh SO MANY SO MANY, it’s almost too hard to single them out. There are so many talented artists and producers out there, which is why House is such an amazing scene to be part of.

Producers like Masters at Work, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Joey Negro, Ralf Gum, Black Coffee, Kings of Tomorrow, Sonny Fodera, Disclosure, Sam Divine, George Mensah & Mike Dunn stand out for me, but in all honesty I could to on and on.

Name some highlights or a profound moment in your time as a DJ

One of the best moments for me was when I was asked to be a DJ for a friends wedding. Whilst I had done similar gigs before this was in a remote castle in the middle of Scotland. The vibe was crazy and I could see that my set and the music was the highlight of the wedding. The remoteness meant we partied all night. One of the longest but best sets I have ever played.

Another amazing event and highlight for me was a launch for the fashion brand Sandro in Regent Street. It was meant to be a small intimate event but once the tunes started playing people were drawn in from the street and it turned into something bigger and was just soo much fun.

Have you done any production? If not, is it something you aim to do?

No not as of yet, I have considered it and its certainty something I would like to do in the future. Right now I am focusing on Dj'ing and honing in my craft. No matter how much time I spend there is always something new to learn.

Going on from that, what are your musical plans for the future?

My future plans are to focus on my show on House FM.

To continue I aim to perform at more gigs & festivals in the UK and worldwide once the world restores itself to some sort of normality.
