Raised into a very large family who constantly played music, I’ve been exposed to many styles, almost every genre imaginable and I’ve LOVED it ALL!! However, my earliest and most significant introduction to the LOVE of music was as a street dancer in the early 80's when breakdance/electro first swept across the world from the US.
In the early 90's I first began playing mixed set's during fashion shows and bars where I studied at UAL. It was between the late 80's and early 90's where I experienced the phenomenal rise of the acid house MOVEMENT, held in very secret locations across various unknown countryside venues all over the UK. It was at this point when I became immersed in the club scene and really started to develop my craft as a DJ.
In the early 00's I embarked on a journey as a music producer with the first notable move forming the music to accompany the production for "Time Fracture", a short film produced by prize winning poet Nick Makoha, submitting his entry at the Cannes Film Festival.
Whilst music has always been my “First Love”, I made a conscious decision NOT to transition into a career within the industry. However, during this period I met with 3 major record labels, all of which were very keen to progress/sign with me (EMI Records, Edel Records, which at the time was the largest independent record label in Europe, and with a then younger A&R (Jamie Binns) who worked for Jazzy B's label at the time. Jamie, if you ever wondered what happened to that producer who suddenly disappeared - I'm still here and perhaps we’ll catch up again! It was at this point I decided to take a break from the industry but still remained playing selectively at more intimate events.
Over the years there have been many venues clubs/bars/festivals/fashion shows and probably other places I've probably forgotten about. The 2 most well-known house clubs I guess were the Astoria (Tottenham court road) and the Gardening Club (Covent Garden), sadly both of which are no longer active.
Hopefully what you’ll hear from me during my show is a diverse blend of House/Tech/Disco and more. I may even decide to stick to one style during my session or approach my set selecting from two distinct styles? It really depends on a number of factors. There are no restrictions, hence the name of my show - NO RESTRICTIONS!!
One thing for sure, you WILL hear some GREAT music!! Catch me every Saturday night 12pm to 2am Sunday morning.
